He's probably middle-high for elected Republicans, but some large percentage of GOP voters are way worse. I've seen too many of them admit that they vote GOP because there isn't a more extreme party, and that objective reality is for liberals.

I love cooking, profoundly. I love cooking so much that I want everyone else to love cooking too!

The biggest roadblock I see to everyone loving to cook is the BS gatekeeping that goes on. Anyone who says you MUST do this or that in the kitchen is making people hate to cook.
