... we own our home & live near family. I have zero interest in moving far away for low pay + added cost of living. Masking precautions also limit my options. So for people like me I'd say look at ALL local options & remote, but not geographically broadly. Living safer > Working in our field

However ... the jobs landscape in the past year has shifted. Tech jobs, corporate jobs, government jobs, all went from being more secure to disappearing. And we now have more people in the fields (GLAM & LIS) unemployed or underemployed. Everyone will have different priorities - for me

If they are interested in working with their LIS skills in non-traditional roles (academic, school, archives, libraries) then the interviews I did back in 2020 are filled with insights and jobs fields. I also asked each person how they got their foot in the door

Waves and thanks for the rec! I am reading through the replies and thinking about what I would recommend, too, because so much has shifted in the past year for job seekers.
