Unironically though, I’ve never got so many people going “Hell yeah!” than skiing on the streets of Bucktown This morning.

One thing I’d really like to see evidence of is whether or not the amount allowing of system-gaming that exists is actually making it easier for people who legitimately require accommodations to get them.
Coming from a world where I saw what happens with VA disability, the opposite seems to happen.

I’m of two minds here because the only time I’ve been hit on a bike in this city was at this intersection, but at the same time elimination of a turn lane on 18th caused gridlock for blocks on one of the few streets that go in and out of the neighborhood.
The alderperson provided an update today: many of the already installed protections will be removed and planned protections will not be installed

I’ve been saying for a while that Johnson’s problem isn’t so much tied to ideology so much as to the fact that he’s just a really stupid guy.
This does not inspire much confidence in me, a person who was quite happy to vote for Johnson in 2023.

I mean, sure there were all the atrocities, but his holiday also got a sizable people a Monday off work when October weather is the best so it’s impossible to say if he was bad or not.

At least 5 of the Democrats running for that Congressional seat—including a school board member, a mayor, & 2 state senators—have been on the neighborhood streets doing rapid response, and/or have been assaulted by ICE at Broadview

Whistling when ICE is about to kidnap someone for no reason is incredibly effective. They know what they are doing is wrong and will scatter in the wind when too many witnesses gather.
