We are a group of seniors appalled at the actions of the current administration, especially its disregard for the rule of law and actions suppressing free speech. We believe action by the people is necessary to prevent dictatorship, destruction of our democratic government and mass suffering. We cry wake up to America. In June, we stood against Trump’s unconstitutional takeover of Los Angeles. Since then, this administration has only become more lawless and taken over more cities. At the last No Kings, we filled the streets. On October 18th, we will fill the entire City of Falls Church along Broad Street (Route 7). In Falls Church we will form a human chain along all of Broad Street, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., to oppose this administration and to demonstrate the power of our community. Go straight to your chosen block, or join a brief pre-event warm-up at the Episcopal Church (115 E. Broad St). There will be block captains across the city to assist. When we wrap up locally at 11:30, many of us will take the metro into DC to join the national rally. We’ll take the Orange or Silver line train from the West Falls Church and East Falls Church stations to the event near the Capitol building. Let us know if you need help or support to do this. Join us for our peaceful and joyful Bridge Brigade on Saturday, October 18, 10AM - 12 Noon for NO KINGS DAY 2! Your signs welcome; please no profanity. Bring American flags, wear patriotic colors, bring a hat and water! Note: Limited accessibility. There is a 0.2 mile walk from parking to the pedestrian bridge. Directions to Pedestrian Bridge: Access to the bridge and parking lots are from Audrey Moore Rec Center. GPS address: 8100 Braddock Rd., Annandale, VA 22003. Park in the furthest lot with the Rec Center building. The bridge is past the parking lot, a short walk further down Wakefield Park Dr. You will see fencing for the access ramp to the pedestrian bridge on the right.
