Meh. I'd take the prequels over the sequels any day, Jar Jar and neat spinning tricks and incredibly stupid major character death and all.

As per just about everything JJ Abrams touches, it's just the original story rehashed with some plucky to obnoxious new characters, unnecessarily larger scale, and more lens flare.

There was also a very short-lived Lone Gunmen spinoff series. A lot of it was pretty cringe and it's easy to see why it was cancelled, but the first episode, which was filmed and aired well before 9/11, is unsettlingly prescient.

JJ Abrams is a complete hack whose only skill is regurgitating much better creators' stories only BIGGER and with MORE LENS FLARE, and this is a hill I will die on.
