give me a couple of hours with a second hand Novation Launchpad mini, 2 mirrors, some python code, and a small plastic octopus...

Indeedy.
Raz was the first person I knew outside of my home village really when me an a friend started going out to "the capital" back in 1987.
Raz at the time was a singer for The Bastinados, a goth cover band.
For a Hillsborough support gig in 89, he sang for me on a few tunes I'd done.

RIP.

This is the most insightful science comment I've seen on the subject of universe expansion.

i might add I can only say that loading these sorta tape drives every day for years was a "joy" only slightly outweighed by the noise of a 1000 lpm printer

I didn't dress like these tho. It was the late 80s ofc. I had baggy jeans, pixie boots, shirt down to my ankles and "trevor horn" sunglasses :D

"Strange BUT True"

I'll allow the middle two, and I'll forgive the first one, because objectively it is a bit strange, even if it's likely not meant to be strange to the people in the story...

but I draw the line at "Chess grandmaster playing match against 140,000 people reveals expected result"

for various logical, sceptical, and perhaps bordering on "hilariously" cynical reasons, i take issue with almost everything claimed here:

Ironically the first thing Gemini said when I asked it to comment on this [i added back in your space-abbreviated grammar for clarity] was

"This is classic deflection"

and after the below went onto explain in several 4 options of reprimand / retraining for the colleague.
