Couldn't help but take this pic at today's @ncetm.bsky.social for #ect #primary meeting today. Wondering how many glasses? How many in each circle - is there a pattern? @em-mathshub.bsky.social

Anyone remember Counting Joe? It's very old but I loved the skip counting element; does anyone have a copy they could share?

It may be the hols but anyone fancy doing some Maths? 🤓

Here's a sneak peek into some of what's covered in @yrmathshub.bsky.social Developing Fluency with Multiplicative Reasoning at KS3. Recruiting now for a 25/26 cohort, to find out more and to book your place:

In #MathsToday we played this. A sneaky way to squeeze in some revision on multiples and lots of fun.
A grid from 1 to 36.

Each player starts with 10 counters.

Players take turns to roll a dice and place a counter
on a multiple of that number if possible.
The first player to use up all their counters wins!

Day 1 of #CalculatorCrunch is here! Hope you have fun with the segments. I've been thinking about reordering the digits and making a new calculation so 792, 729 etc. Please share your ideas using the hashtag #maths #primarymaths #Y58Continuity #KS2KS3transition

It’s Day 1 of #CalculatorCrunch and today’s puzzle is called Seven Segments.

A calculator display uses a combination of 7 segments to display numbers. Create calculations where the answer uses 7, 14 or 21 segments on the display.

Fractions always a topic where visuals can help.
However need children to decide the questions. E.g “What if we had …….. "
Polypad is great for working with children rather than asking them to watch a 'fixed’ PPT animation.
Love Polypad.

Busy week with opportunity to visit many lessons & watch/listen to children thinking mathematically for #MathsMastery @em-mathshub.bsky.social. Discussing adaptations, language of measure, time & representations for F and D. Things to think about: rulers, oracy, modelling, partitioning fractions.

Today's #OCRMathsPuzzle is inspired by some great 'yohaku' puzzles that we've seen on here recently @mikejacobs.bsky.social

Arrange 9 consecutive numbers into the grid, to meet the requirements below!

Have a great weekend! 😀
#UKMathsChat #arithmetic #RecreationalMaths
Arrange 9 consecutive numbers into the 3 by 3 grid, so that…

(a) the product of the 3 numbers in each row are 16588, 16200 and 13524
(b) the product of the 3 numbers in each column are 16146, 14784 and 15225
(c) the sum of the numbers in the 2 by 2 grid shaded grey in the top left corner of the 3 by 3 grid is 99.
