I was reminded of the first time I traveled outside of Ecuador on summer vacations. Growing up in a Catholic school with fairly strict codes of dressing, I remember seeing my peers in Chile with mini skirts, colourful pink hair and jewelry and going like SO THIS IS WHAT LIBERTY IS LIKE.

I'm in Buenos Aires and the first thing that almost made me clutch my pearls was to see Argentinians drinking hot mate while it's hot af. Then I remembered I drink hot black coffee every day in Guayaquil, where the average temperature is 31°C.
