He unexpectedly passed on a little while later and a condolence card was passed around the place where I worked. It praised him as a kind and wonderful person. I remembered the 2 instances we had met before when I signed the card. I think about that a lot

When I was 21 I waited tables/bartended at a place that was frequented by well known people. There was one person who was a well known radio personality who frequented the place, and the first words he said to me were so intensely cruel that I went home that night and cried

I think I was about 19 years old when I realized that a lot of the performers, athletes, politicians, famous people, etc. that we like are kinda jerks and that the ones who are nice to average people are quite rare

I feel weird. A lot of the questions people are asking openly now about 9/11 are questions that we were asking in 2002 and we got pounded. I actually got hit in the face by a rock or something at a peace protest in 2003. I'm not happy or sad or anything. I just feel weird
