My 1st experience that I remember was seeing ST:TMP in the theater as a 2 year old & beong obsessed with Lt. Ilia. I must have seen Star Trek on TV before that cuz I remember knowing who Spock was in the film & liking him too.

I don’t think the profit focused lot can comprehend this. There’s no mass appeal algorithm, secret key or special code out there, just be normal and if people like it then yay.
The idea that every single thing in every single franchise has to appeal to every existing fan of that franchise is how you end up with really boring franchises that either die out or limp along fueled by the fumes of childhood nostalgia until they fade into irrelevance.

How come #StrangerThings seasons are still set in consecutive years? Giving 11 more time in Cali between 3 and 4, plus a bit more of the town under quarantine between 4 and 5 would’ve made all the difference. 23 year olds don’t look or sound 16.

Is there any community’s of youngish, up to date, #film and #TV enthusiasts that people could recommend? I’m still following a Facebook group and browse #Filmsky, but there’s too much self promotion, film tastes being stuck 15 years ago, Gen X norms and aversion to new ideas for me…
