Colossal nerd. VHS junkie. Sifts through trash looking for treasures. Way too nostalgic.

there’s a Halloween children’s book that my sister and i had as kids (so, from the 80s) that i’ve been trying to find for decades

all that i remember about it is there’s a group of kids trick-or-treating that run into a bunch of different monsters who end up trick-or-treating with them…

i watched She-Creature a few years back and really dug it.

it’s funny how long it’s taken me to get around to these, though. especially considering how frequently i saw the tapes at various video stores when they released. and the action figures were always at Toys R Us back then.

and now i’m thinking of doing a day of game-related horror flicks.

possible titles include Arcade, Evolver, Brainscan, and The Dungeonmaster.

this movie is a lot more fun than i was expecting it to be.

up early on my day off and watching the 2001 “remake” of How to Make a Monster.

i got a dish of pumpkin and Oreo ice cream, and a first-time watch of 1408.

it’s much needed after an eleven-hour workday.

i still remember my mom howling with awkward laughter at the “hair gel” scene when it first hit home video/rental.

i haven’t watched it since.

i’ve watched as many movies in the last four days as i did in the entirety of August and September.

it’s a pretty clear indication of how bad off i’ve been for a while now.

the last three months have been a real struggle and i’m hoping for better days ahead.

not -too- shabby for $10.00.

(i was really hoping Submarauder would have the ‘bot inside, but no dice.)

i still (very) occasionally find something worthwhile on the grab-bag wall at Savers.

planning on watching Beware of the Blob when i get home from work.

it’s a movie that totally freaked me out as a kid for just one scene, and i’m curious to see how that particular kindertrauma holds up.

i was sold the moment i saw it.

the description of a werewolf stalking London during WWII was icing on the cake.

Ferrer is fantastic as a sleazy, acerbic tabloid reporter. and the SFX (especially at the end) are perfectly gruesome.

it feels like a fun blend of Tales from the Crypt and The X-Files.

last flick (and the first rewatch) for the day.

a good start to my favorite month!

i have very distinct memories of the second and third segments from seeing it as a kid, but totally blocked the opening with Cujo (and Christine!) and everything with James Woods.

i know i followed you over at the other place once upon a time, but i don’t think we ever interacted.

saw someone share your post and decided to jump in (sorry!) and reply.

i still have all my issues nearby for the occasional reread!

i miss the days of walking into Newbury Comics and picking up the latest issue.

the local ice cream place got their pumpkin (and pumpkin with Oreos!) flavors in last month, and i crave it pretty much every day.

so, uh, these also look amazing.

i didn’t even realize he was in Toy Soldiers. i haven’t seen it since i was a kid!
