This guy was the reason I decided to never ever have a single male lodger or housemate again. On top of his unpleasant eating/cooking habits, he was super creepy, made numerous arrogant and sexist comments, and made me feel extremely uncomfortable being alone in the house with him.
Shudder 😩

Thank you 🙏🏻

He also ruined a set of sheets by spilling some unnaturally brightly coloured food on them in the middle of the night that didn’t wash out….so by the time he moved on after 3 weeks I had to use the money he’d paid me for his unpleasant visit to buy a new microwave and a new set of sheets🙄🤬

Years ago I had a lodger-lived with me for 3 weeks that felt like 3 years. An on-call dr, in & out of the house at all hours, often cooking great volumes of food at 1 am. He cooked something potent in my microwave that permeated its very being & smelt so incredibly bad that I eventually threw it out

Ah that makes sense, because if people weren’t born in NZ, and have an unknown medical history around measles (or a clear parental memory of no disease) we would definitely vaccinate because it can’t do any harm to have the vaccine even if you were already immune.”If in doubt vaccinate” is the rule.
November 29, 2025 at 8:09 AM
We tend to use 1969 as our cut off for being considered “naturally immune”, because measles is so contagious, that everybody born before the vaccine came out is assumed to have had the disease. (For example, I know I had it as a child) but if there’s any doubts, yes we would give a (free)vaccination

I’m a “not very dress-y” person. When my son was getting married, I started looking up “mother of the bride/groom dresses”
Ended up on US websites & Good Lord 😐mothers at USA weddings clearly go completely over the top. Long frilly flowing outfits-absolutely the opposite of anything I would wear!

In New Zealand, if you’re born after 1969, & don’t have documented evidence of receiving two measles containing vaccines, we’d give you a free MMR vaccination. We’re doing a lot of these at the moment, as we have some community cases of measles now (the first came from overseas & it’s now spreading)

I stopped growing in height when I was 11, and in fact am now slightly shorter than I was then, so I guess, yes, I’d look strange with a bigger head!
