A small fire at the front of the bookshop was started last night after rubbish bags that were awaiting collection were set on fire. The guards don’t have reason at this time to believe it was a targeted attack. Thankfully the damage was limited and everyone is safe. We are open for business as usual

St Mary’s Church in Innishannon was approved by Pope Sixtus IV in 1475. He also gave permission for another church, one which you may have heard of, called the Sistine Chapel, which is in somewhat better repair.

Heron on the Bandon River.

He appeared to be guarding his own patch of river, since other birds would land nearby and immediately take off when they saw him. Some birds would abort their landings and immediately fly away as soon as they noticed him.
