Middle of the road middle aged guy from the east coast. I love dogs and cooking. I love my family and friends most.
I’d love to see a list of questionable or illegal actions this administration has taken for no other reason but to slake Trump’s unending thirst for what he laughably considers vengeance. Sadly, this would be just another entry on that long list.

A dystopian take on the housing market: people who can’t afford housing move to places where homes can’t be insured. Homes in these areas are sold at a huge loss to buyers who risk it all just to have a place that they can call their own.

The insurance market is adding more pain to Home buying.

Trump’s farcical pardon plea is rich. I’m surprised he hasn’t (openly) asked world leaders to condemn the many “witch hunts“ against him.

It’s losing the trade war for sure, but in reality it would take almost nothing for him to ramp up tariffs again. The President of economic chaos raises tariffs at a whim. How is that supposed to be good for international trade? It’s like giving car keys to a chimpanzee and hoping for the best.

He is a unique candidate whose politics won’t resonate to a majority outside of New York. It doesn’t mean there is nothing for Democrats to learn from his victory. I also think he is to the left of a lot of progressives and is the rising star of a limited electorate.

It won’t happen no matter who is elected. I’d rather the next President spend political capital convincing Congress to put real checks on Executive power so our kids don’t re-live this. The ballroom will remind us that the choices we have in a two party system brought us Trump not once but twice.
November 12, 2025 at 3:29 AM
What they elected - not we. I don’t take accountability for voters who ignored the obvious and who liked enough of what they saw during the first term. That tacky monument to a malignant piece of trash can stand as a testament to the fact that paying attention matters.

I’m willing to bet that any policies that Democrats can come up with will not only be good for veterans but for all of us. Where are those ideas? I’ve heard Seth Moulton with a few Ideas that I can get behind. Next time you’re in control of Congress Dems, implement them.

Who really believes that Trump and the Repubs will come up with a replacement for Obamacare? I don’t believe it for a second. All he cares about is enriching himself for as long as he can while he has the numbers in Congress to let him get away with it. No solution in sight. He doesn’t care.

This might prove to be a similar outcome to the subprime mortgage crisis of 20 years ago.
November 11, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Instead of creating affordable housing, let’s create a completely whacked out financing scheme that gets some people into the housing market that might not be good candidates to be there. Can you blame them? Because they can’t afford the rent since their wages haven’t kept up with housing costs.

Newsom isn’t perfect. I think you’re underselling Prop 50 because it was not well accepted or popular at first. It was an uphill climb, and he convinced Californians of its merits. As far as the trolling, it proves that such puerile behavior is unbecoming of the president, let alone a governor.
November 11, 2025 at 6:53 PM
This shutdown proved that the GOP couldn’t care less about hurting Americans. The depths to which Repubs will go to serve as the sword of Trump‘s vengeance is limitless. They pledged complete fealty. The Dems were never going to get what they sought. That doesn’t mean quit the fight.
November 11, 2025 at 5:58 PM
This administration is at war with anybody who has a brain and who thinks our nation’s “leaders” should be questioned. It’s not just the press (what is the press these days?). It’s anyone anywhere who even suggests that the Trump administration has done something that deserves scrutiny.
November 11, 2025 at 5:20 PM
Another day of Trump removing safeguards that protect the average person from corporations. If you think corporations are in our pockets now, wait until the watchdog is muzzled. Just like the subprime mortgage crisis from almost 20 years ago, look what unregulated lending markets unleashed then.
November 11, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Trump and the Republicans have proven time after time that they’re not interested in helping common people. Now the Dems need to explain how they will. A good part of the electorate is fickle and vote for whomever they think will help them most. We’re waiting to hear those ideas, Dems.
November 11, 2025 at 3:54 PM
Best of luck to Mamdani. Maybe he’ll help Dems understand how to communicate with everyday people. His politics may not resonate outside of NYC, but we’ll see if his ideas work. Newsom showed Dems how to fight. Not sure the old guard have gotten the message that Repubs need to be checked.
November 11, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Counting down the days until voters can send Trump into lame duck status. Keep being your hateful selves, Trump and Republicans. Your fall from power is long overdue. Your ascent into infamy and documented treachery will follow. History will wipe the floor with you.
November 11, 2025 at 3:10 PM
Dems and organizations like Public Citizen should keep up the fight and shine a bright light on the Trump administration’s illegal or immoral actions. The real change should come in the future when a Dem President works with a Dem-controlled Congress to close loopholes and limit executive power.
November 11, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Republicans aren’t focused on creating affordable housing, supporting HUD programs that help people pay rent in high cost cities, or favorable mortgage programs to get in homeownership the right way. Instead, 50 year mortgages are being offered. It’s like giving somebody penicillin for a headache.
November 11, 2025 at 2:58 PM
A lot of us just want to understand the motivations and strategy behind caving in. Everyone knows it was a crap sandwich either way, but when you’re fighting for the future and you’ve already gone a long way down that road, why give up your leverage? Republicans were getting blamed, rightfully so.
November 11, 2025 at 2:54 PM
Interesting, and makes sense. But why? Is it because they know the December vote will fail and Republicans will completely own soaring healthcare premiums?
November 11, 2025 at 5:33 AM
Someone articulate the rationale behind these defections. I am trying to understand why they caved. Is there something I am missing?
November 11, 2025 at 5:23 AM
Terrible leadership. Republicans do not negotiate in good faith EVER. Why Schumer fails to see this is maddening.
November 11, 2025 at 5:20 AM
This is accurate. There will be a promised vote in December and then premiums will soar after it fails. The only *win* is that people will watch their ACA costs go up and know that the Republicans never cared about anything other than tax cuts. There was no magical replacement for ACA an no plan.
