One of my main characters is depressed and unable to evaluate herself clearly, another is too dim to really be introspective. (The latter character experiences some emotions she doesn't understand, and instead of thinking about it she does some push-ups instead.)

I wouldn't pay someone to look at my novel as a writing coach, but I would pay someone to check for therapy speak. (I *assume* I didn't do that, never having been to therapy, but this shit enters your mind through unfortunate exposure to people who want to tell you about their therapy journey.)
