Waibel on Ryan Kent: "There's just not going to be a role for him here next year. That door is closed."

Waibel on the U-22 spot: "We'll continue to evaluate. If we bring in a U-22, it'll be someone who we feel like can contribute...We'll keep playing around with it...We don't need to bring in a player that will develop for two more years with our current roster."

Waibel on Obed Vargas contract situation: "There's a lot of interest in him. There's a lot of interest in keeping him." Says conversations are happening with him. Craig is not concerned Obed leaves on a free transfer.

Waibel says Frei and Rothrock are both free agents and that "there's healthy conversations" with both players, but "there's no resolution to speak to yet."

Seattle has declined the contract options for Leo Burney, Jacob Castro, Ryan Kent and Travian Sousa. Additionally, Jonathan Bell, Stefan Frei, João Paulo and Paul Rothrock are out of contract and can enter free agency.

Frankly, I'm rooting for Vancouver to win it all. Those fans and that great city deserves it after all they've put up with for years of mediocrity.

Call me a bad Sounders fan if you want, but I'm pulling for them. Go, little brother, go. And thanks for ousting that LAFC... 🤮
