gotta say, between the lead in the gasoline and the american education system, these guys were barely literate. i wonder what a society of seething, stupid guys like this, aged 20-50 (1965-1995), was like

Russia's agricultural output in inflation adjusted dollars, 1961-2020 (there is a global recession in 1981, the soviet union dissolves in 1991, there is a global recession in 2008, are the main 3 line-moving events)
monthly food bank visits 2020-2025, Canada, vs food and housing inflation

tbf it's a banger, a surreal dream-like (nightmarish) element adds a threatening aura to the american realist he's better known for.

polys gotta stay low. ok, that's a placeholder if i ever saw one. the guns will be their own models added to the scene for the boat, because they'll need to be able to move independently of the ship mesh, and also their configuration is customizable. a man can learn a thing, i swear

tho like i do think this is mb a flash in the pan, tbh. the people who have lived under 2-incomes being the norm and are also getting to the late-career earning levels are boomers and gen-xers, the most unhinged generations (not their fault).

We all put on masks and costumes of a sort in our everyday life. But when we truly conceal and negate our own identity I think something powerful happens, we can step outside of society in a way.
This is not inherently liberating, as demonstrated by the masked storm troopers facing the frog hero.

this is funny because in a motion to dismiss, the judge basically assumes every allegation you make is true, then decides if there's a case or not.
but this is all from drake's materials (who wants to prove alot of damages) so the judge in her decision has to be like "i find its all time number 1"

alot of people on the "would you rather have pierre?" like, please consider that our existing policy under JT was struggling to make and sustain modest gains well short of our already unambitious goals, and walking that back the correct amount is the complete wrong fight to have.

i don't have a take on the ice shooting but i think it's funny that americans see a stripper clip for recharging a low capacity built in magazine and are like "and yet, he shot people?" like that isn't the main way it's ever been done in history by volume.

the weird tab location actually makes me think it's a french 7.5mm mauser - the tabs on a 1903 clip line up with cart 2 and 4, most other mausers with 2,3,4. though alot of these old time stripper clips are supposed to be interoperable betweeen 1903s and their mauser contemporaries.

the government *gets to decide how much money it has in the budget*. it is not the same as your budget or a company's budget or a bank's budget or any other budget, there is a whole second way to be bad with money. alberta captures the lowest % of its gdp as revenue of all the provinces, by alot.

a thing i think is funny is that the EPS greatly expanded their annual report without actually adding very much (they go into more depth on their activities but it can't demonstrate they're evidence based or tied to their outcomes) but they added this diagram of their governance structure and, lmao

cc @trevortombe.bsky.social can we fix? gang it's bad, the separatist "survey" that doesn't let you express criticism and that is locked behind a propaganda video also doesn't work.

when i see an article like this i look up the author and invariably he has a bibliogrpahy of a dozen pulp novels, none of which has its own wikipedia page, and this is his personal life synopsis.
bro maybe the problem isn't everyone else.

how come you're a stock photo and your bio says you've written for NYT but you haven't?

carney and harris would be tories a generation ago. my theory is that in the obama2 to trump era, gen-X pulled the right wing parties to the right with their anti-establishment conspiracy theory stuff, but the boomers didn't move along with them, so the liberal parties moved right to pick them up.
