The tool doesn't exist yet x3 That presentation was jerry-rigged together.

I really like it. Kind of gives me Dungeon Defenders tavern vibes.

This looks fantastic! Are you gonna make the world public?

Froox, Resonite wouldn't exist without you. Of course it wouldn't be better off.

Resonite might be better off if you weren't the only one responsible for everything. But the thing that makes this platform great is your vision that formed it. Without that vision I wouldn't be here today.

Already done that! x3

Autopilot and myself still have our presentation tool on the (really long) ToDo list...

But this was our first attempt back then:

@valvesoftware.com give that (dog-)man a devkit! x3

If any VR developer deserves to get one it's Frooxius. Native support for the Steam Frame in Resonite on launch day would be pretty epic. So many buttons. So many opportunities.

Yeah that could work. The one thing I'm not super happy with is that it's being projected onto a plane. I think it would look cooler in VR if I can get it to project onto a curved plane / cylinder which is centered to your view instead. I might try that next.

Resonite is work in progress. There's a reason for the early access.

But Frooxius literally spent the entire last year pushing himself way too hard to get a massive performance update out of the door to improve the game.

Blaming him of all people for lack of commitment is incredibly inappropriate.

With Resonite being the size it currently is, I feel like my time is better spent in public instances helping people as much as I can. Once the platform grows to a more comfortable size I might change my approach, but for the time being I'm trying to do what I think is best for the platform.

I don't mind adult environments. I think it's neat if people feel comfortable there. But I try to hang out less in those places, mostly because they are private. With how much people complain about "everyone always being in private instances", I feel a bit guilty if I'm doing that too much myself.
November 22, 2025 at 7:21 AM
I'm surprised adult instances on VRChat are common to begin with, especially public ones o.o

They really don't enforce their ToS over there, do they?

For Resonite at least there's a bunch of Linux users in the community, if you need help getting it to work you could ask in the Linux channel on Resonite's Discord.

Do you not feel the AI juice contributing to your Microsoft experience?
November 14, 2025 at 9:44 AM
I said it before, I'll say it again. Unity is a loading screen simulator. Some stuff on Resonite also can take a while, like importing complex objects. But the key difference is, you can do other stuff WHILE it's processing those...
November 14, 2025 at 7:30 AM
Yeah, also keep in mind Resonite's performance will continue to improve with future updates, like the data model rework / variable rate updating / new rendering engine. Even if it might be a bit choppy at the Frame's launch, it will surely improve over time. Also foveated rendering, of course.
November 13, 2025 at 12:17 PM
It sure depends on the type of science! But I think VR is great for data visualization / working together over long distances in any case. So there's definitely some good use-cases for it.
November 13, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Yeah probably. Resonite runs pretty decently on the Steam Deck since the performance update. Of course it heavily depends on what world you're in / how many avatars / objects there are. But generally speaking I don't see an issue.
