@newsagents.bsky.social labour is still blue labour. Wealth redistribution is NOT occurring. - why aren’t commentators talking about wealth hoarding; why isn’t the impact of £3trn offshored & not circulating throughout the economy to boost research / productivity & improve infrastructure discussed?

That is a very good idea and it should include social
Media costs … but it won’t!
We also need limits on spending by political parties outside of the pre election period. Also need limits on London registered parties using cash raised in England to campaign in Scottish and Welsh parliament elections!
Nigel Farage has spent £1m taking out adverts in the papers to distract from the Nathan Gill Russian bribe scandal.

We can't let him buy himself out of this. We need an investigation into Russian influence in our politics.

I bought an EV precisely because I live in a rural area with a bus every 2 hours and none on Sundays. It cost a lot more to buy than an equivalent petrol car, zero rated road tax has disappeared, grants for home chargers have gone and now a mileage tax?? Win for the petrolheads at westminster.
So, if I get this right, the UK Labour Gov's EV policy is to penalise people who need to drive longer distances in their electric cars. 3 miles in a city, fine. 25 rural miles to go to the nearest supermarket, hammer them hard. Do these people never think things through properly

@holyroodsources.bsky.social I’ve listened for over a year, there are views I’ve raised by eyebrows on eg ‘Sarwar is a great politician’? But I’ve come to the end. It’s three centre right blokes talking. That’s it honestly. Nothing for women engaging with the nuance of devolved government!

UK govt can save over £20bn a year by ending payment of interest on commercial banks’ central bank reserves.

Subsidy implemented after the 2007-08 crash. Banks are very profitable.

Since 2023, the EU stopped paying interest on central bank reserves.

UK can find better uses of £20bn+.

Tax the rich; end tax abuse; end privatization of essential services; reduce poverty and inequality, and boost investment.

Without boosting purchasing power of the bottom 50% govts can't deliver sustained economic growth.

Meanwhile, Scotland is the member who has to hand over their pay packets to the 'head' of the house, get's half back to spend on themselves, has to pay interest in the debt when the head overspends, and isn't allowed to move out to another home that suits them better.
