I’ve just read Escape from the Child Snatchers by Sufiya Ahmed (full review to follow in the next few days but it’s fab!), am now reading Magpie Girl by Rowan Foxfield and am not sure what to read next - depends if anything arrives tomorrow x

When I was a kid, BBC2 showed an old film most Saturday afternoons, which I often enjoyed watching. Mr S has gone to the footie (more fool him) so I’m reviving that tradition thanks to the wonders of iPlayer 😀

Well, that went well! Have picked up a nasty infection, warranting a trip to the health centre today and a follow-up appointment tomorrow to see if I’m improving. If not, it’ll be IV antibiotics 😭

Currently rereading my favourite book of 2025 ahead of the sequel, The Frozen Curse, publishing in January and I am loving it every bit as much as I did when I first read it. Exciting, original and inclusive, this is everything I love in a middle grade fantasy.
