There's something about Nobusuke Kishi that makes people's brains melt. The guy was certainly an ass but people treat him as if he was the Japanese Syngman Rhee.

In love with this painting by Tosa Mitsuoki of Heian courtiers playing with a giant snowball (inspired by chapter 20 of "The Tale of Genji").

It came with a poster & some old mail-in stuff for ordering more records.

31. Waterloo: The History of Four Days, Three Armies and Three Battles (2014, audiobook 2015)

A lively account of the Waterloo campaign, written by Bernard Cornwell. Being primarily a novelist, Cornwell is good at creating an entertaining & easy to follow narrative.

30. The Antares Maelstrom (2019)

Another TOS audiobook. A good Star Trek story without an overarching antagonist. This one is balances nicely with the action-heavy Harm's Way. Robert Petkoff seems to be the go-to narrator for TOS era audio stuff.

29. Harm's Way (2022)

A Star Trek TOS book (or audiobook, in my case). Pretty good. Makes me want to get into the Star Trek Vanguard series of novels (which it ties into), unfortunately the only audiobooks for those are in German.

28. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986)

3rd time watching this movie (and the 2nd time as a part of a groupwatch). It's good. Still one of my favourite Trek films.

I have discovered that this is, in fact, not a hot take.

Some thoughts after having used Liquid Glass more:
- in terms of implementation, it is Mac > iPad > iPhone. It’s better on larger screens
- One of my big problems on iOS is how app folders look. They just look bad with most wallpapers (pictured).

I will spend too much money if they release a Klingon battlecruiser.

27. Star Trek: Lower Decks s5 (2024)

A tad bit weaker than the previous few seasons, but still very enjoyable. A solid ending to what is honestly the best Star Trek thing since Deep Space Nine. Lower Decks always impresses with its ability to mix comedy with genuinely good Trek writing.

26. Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ (1986)

Started this in 2017, finished it in 2025. The best & worst things you hear about Double Zeta are probably all true. A divisive entry, but one that I liked. I like the characters, & the comedy worked for me. My favourite non-anime Gundam series.

25. Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX (2025)

I feel like my experience with GQuuuuuuX was the reverse of many others - I didn't really like it at the beginning, but mostly came round to enjoying it by the end. An undoubtably messy series, but one I was glad to experience.
