I am pretty sure there will be cool things from new creators who otherwise wouldn’t have gotten the opportunities due to technical/network/economic etc barriers… but what’s the trade off in aggregate? And it sucks to live through the transition - at a societal / high level cultural level

This is really clarifying, it’s been a rather vague feeling in the back of my head why this specific group of interconnected guys has been the tip of the spear recently.. throw SV bank run as another activation event to the mix of ideology, money, and brain worms

I mean again, I agree there are legit discussions to have about the nature of org and mission going forward.. but like everything else the folks in charge are not interested in actual reality or solutions, and when it starts with “profit” we are already way off course

That’s fair but a specific conversation about P&L and an organizations liabilities is not what’s happening here or ever has. It’s in bad faith, they want to hollow it out and privatize the service

yeah I mean each day that passes is more damning as well. they have clear levers to pull and still fail to do so with actual evidence (not just foreknowledge of likely behavior) in front of them

Don’t forget also skipping past the part of “what is intelligence” exactly defined as here. Want to move your body in space expertly? Be really good at math? Extremely talented at music? Artistically inclined? Lot of dimensions here, yes raw material but also as much environmental as genetic
