Whenever I see this argument I think of it in the context of Brown v. Board of Education.
again, the supreme court did not write the constitution (or the declaration) and—despite what you may think—they don't have the monopoly on the interpretation of those documents.

the people have a say, and if the court is out of step with the people, that's a problem for the court, not the governed
i think to understand the meaning of the birthright citizenship clause to the framers of the 14th amendment, you have to understand significance of dred scott to the civil war republican party. dred scott wasn't just a bad ruling, it was understood as a rejection of the declaration itself.

Not sure this is correct. The reason for the redrawing was partisan, which is constitutional. The actual gerrymander was based on race, which is supposed to be unconstitutional. The SCOTUS majority ignored that second part.
To be fair, the justices are not technically wrong that the standard here, which the district court reviewed, was that if the gerrymandering was for partisan reasons, it's legal. It's only illegal if it was for race. But that allows the justices to just out & out say "THIS IS FOR PARTISAN REASONS!"
“Yes, yes, we can see all your ‘facts’ and all the adorable little ‘evidence,’ but you failed to consider that none of that matters if we all close our eyes and pretend the Texas GOP actually had pure motives here, you stupid little rubes.”

Are we at the point yet where we begin hiding people in our attics?
Jacob Frey: "If we are now at the point where the federal govt is deploying agents on legal American citizens with a goal of uprooting people who have formed lives here, have families here, started businesses here, definitively made Minneapolis a better place, everybody should be speaking out."

Sleepy Don.
Trump dozes while Marco Rubio speaks to him directly next to him. Just insane optics.

Still at it with the fantasy math.
Trump claims he's slashing drugs prices by "200 percent, 300 percent, 400 percent, 500 percent, 600 percent, 700 percent, 800 percent. Nobody has ever heard of it before."

Let's just add this to the very long list of impeachable offenses.
Any President who calls for the opposition party to be hanged should be immediately impeached and removed from office.

And there you have it. Trump and Bondi will block the release of the Epstein files.
Bondi on the Epstein investigations that Trump demanded: "We're not gonna say anything else on that because now it is a pending investigation in SDNY"
November 19, 2025 at 5:36 PM
This should be front page news. DOJ doesn't release files of ongoing investigations. Bondi opening a new investigation prevents the Epstein files from being released.
They just found a way to redact whole sections of the DOJ file from public release
Breaking News: Pam Bondi assigned a prosecutor to look into Jeffrey Epstein’s ties to prominent Democrats including Bill Clinton, at President Trump’s urging.

Did not realize that Maggie Hassan had been in a coma for the past year.
Hassan: With the government reopening shortly, Republicans now finally have to come to the table. Or make no mistake, Americans will remember who stood in the way.

Hey, Jeanne, this isn't "working together." This is giving in to the other side without getting anything in return. That makes you a doormat, not a Senator.
Shaheen: "When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, 'Why can't you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'"

Hey @60minutes.bsky.social ,
Why did Norah O'Donnell fail to mention the pending Paramount merger that was approved after this bribe was paid to Trump?
Trump seal of approval for news seems problematic

Kristi Noem continues to say that assaults on ICE agents are up 1,000%.

DOJ is deliberately prosecuting these frivolous cases to gin that number up, and they want to use it as a pretext for deploying the military in US cities.
“I’m a law-abiding citizen who never thought I’d be of such interest that the U.S. government would use my tax dollars & yours to try to send me to prison…[after being] manhandled by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent trying to remove my phone from my hand.”

I believe that filming what federal agents were doing that day counted as basic human decency.

They're trying to provoke a violent response so they can send in the troops. Watch.
🚨BIG changes happening -- ICE leadership is being purged tonight. The old guard, which prioritized targeted enforcement operations aimed at people with criminal records, is being replaced with Border Patrol and Gregory Bovino's "Midway Blitz" style.

Think things are bad now? It'll get worse.

As impeachable offenses go, this is pretty freakin' high up the ladder.
Breaking News: President Trump wants $230 million from the Justice Department for investigating him, people familiar with the matter say. Any settlement might ultimately be approved by senior department officials who defended him or those in his orbit. nyti.ms/4hmIi5X
