Strengthening the centre of midfield is more important for us than buying a new centre forward. The Everton game highlighted that, and it really should be our number 1 priority before the end of the transfer window as opposed to getting involved in a transfer saga over Sesko.
Red Bull Leipzig have received an improved offer from Newcastle United to sign Benjamin Sesko.

The dead have a right to remain dead. An animated skin put over a computer model and given the same name as the dead son of grieving parents is a cursed golem and a full delusion. By interviewing the computer model, Acosta has asked us to accept this as true or real. Gun control deserves better.
At 4p ET/1p PT, I’ll have a one of a kind interview with Joaquin Oliver. He died in the Parkland school shooting. But his parents have created an AI version of their son for a powerful message on gun violence. Plus TX Rep. @jamestalarico.bsky.social - see you soon on Substack and later on YouTube.

He's discarding the best progressive opportunity in decades by:
- refusing to raise taxes and borrow
- prioritizing welfare cuts for the poorest and disabled
- slowing planning reform and balking at EU re-integration
- ignoring the voting system
- embracing Reform's language and logic on migration
The equivalent of Starmer's victory is 274 house seats and 63 senate seats

we would be in a much better state in this country if we stopped focusing on anointing a chosen few working class students into Oxbridge, and instead properly funded all the different sorts of universities that attract students from a wide range of backgrounds already

Meanwhile, Putin and Netanyahu are treating him like a doormat and Trump just rolls over and plays dead. No point in flattering a narcissist. Treat 'em mean and keep 'em keen
Extraordinary spectacle here at NATO. Trump isn't being treated by Rutte and fellow leaders as a partner and fellow head of govt, but rather a sort of world king with themselves relegated as courtiers. Probably the only thing they can do in the circs, but deeply weird.

It's notable that the only student speech frequently shut down on university campuses is a) pro-Palestine b) pro-trans-rights. The OfS seems *deeply* unconcerned about that speech being limited. In fact, they want academics who oppose those positions to have the right to 'shock and offend' students.
'He added that students should be able to express any view, no matter how offensive it is to others, as long as it is not outside what is generally allowed by law, such as harassment or unlawful discrimination.'

This part just sounds like an arsehole's charter, a licence to be a nightmare.

Still gonna worry that this deal will collapse until we get the official club confirmation, but what a move this would be. Like Cunha, proven PL-quality and a goalscorer in a problem position.

If this gets done, then let's go and sort out the midfield.

This is coming from a Israeli source who is frustrated by Israeli decision makers and US involvement - probably an accurate take.
Barring last minute surprises, we can conclude that Trump's visit to the region - the most serious opportunity to end the war in a while - was missed.
Liza Rozovsky, Haaretz:
-The Doha negotiations deadlocked, US took a step back and leaves decisions for Israel
-Israeli military attacks on Gaza escalating
-Israel has not agreed to resuming aid, and if it would - would be in "minor" quantities insufficient for 2m people

“We’re not Powell we are Wilson/Callaghan” is not really the clever defence Downing St imagine it to be when briefing BS the house magazine of Blue Labour. Wilson passed racially discriminatory legislation and betrayed the Kenyan Asians, leaving them stateless for decades
Leaving aside the "strangers" language, the "defence" of Starmer here from @georgeeaton.bsky.social is that he is emulating the 1964-70 Labour government.

This is the government that passed the - deliberately. explicitly and admittedly -racist Commonwealth Immigrants Act.
