A lesser part of what I've been dealing with has been this to. I have friends who are good natured and trying to help, people I have worked with in the past who are trying to be supportive. But to have my PhD be reduced to "You should just be a teacher or do something else." always hurts to hear.

After working with the charity hospital I'm with, this is really accurate. I've gotten to work with both the research and finances side of their operations and most people just assume their money all comes from charity when govt/state funding helps pay for most of what they do.

I've been working with research institutions since I returned to Grad School and all of these cuts to research have hurt a ton to come into nearing the end of PhD. 8+ years getting to the stage of being an expert on a topic and now you can't find any jobs in it because there is zero funding.

First time seeing one of these in person and it legit looks like ass. Online pictures don’t capture how shit these things look until you see it up close.

Came back from Vancoufur serious about trying to figure out this style and backgrounds. I think I'm getting it a bit more, but I'll probably do the background again in Procreate. That'll be much later though, got to finish my thesis first.
