I think I'd find the idiosyncrasies and distinct identity of the NDP a lot more charming if it felt like the party was also doing the things necessary to achieve actual victories, rather than just being satisfied with moral victories.

But only because nobody has ever tried to deliver a campaign of pure, raw hardcore leftism — a thing that surely exists and leftists can surely agree upon.

If anybody really gave them the real deal without compromise, they'd surely be greeted as liberators.

A joke I keep having in my head is "Well, it certainly seems like X has conclusively lost in the Bluesky feed! Anyway..."

Like we're all entitled to our opinions, but I do think that making space in your analysis for a median voter that cares about the economy a lot is ... kinda important!

The cool thing about blocking people is that in all my many years on the internet, I've never once regretted blocking somebody because I missed out of seeing good posts from them.

This has stayed constant as I've become much, much more block-happy over the years.

The cool thing about Carney's situation politically is that if he loses a few seats in the next election he's still prime minister of a minority government.

But if he wins a few extra seats... Well now...
