If the American people really had to suffer the consequences of a government shutdown instead of having people willing and required to work for free, the aviation system would completely shut down in under 3 hours
The only reason any Americans tolerate a shutdown for more than 5 minutes— either this or any other time— is that they have a cadre of people required to essentially work for free for significant periods of time. It’s immoral and wrong
