All about weather radar science at NSSL, keeping the research NWS-focused, and kindness ❤️
Still greatly recommend #EverythingWeather even when the forecast itself continues to suck. #MakeItStop 🤓🤣

What a greeting for this day 💕

Planes keep finding me. TSA & ABQ: living near airports on purpose. Back to Norman: east side, found out we got to enjoy flight line into Tinker AFB when north wind (sigh). Moved to southwest Norman, and we now have a parade of private jets heading into Max Westheimer on games days. 🤣🤓

This message is still so haunting to read. The TC equivalent of Tornado Emergency in its then unprecedented use. NWS stepping up to tell the story “this is the big one”. ❤️‍🩹

@hylandwx.bsky.social made me look 🤣🤣
So glad Erin is heading northwest. I’ll never forget what happens to our NEXRADs due to hurricanes. This one is KJUA thanks to Hurricane Maria 😢

Can I be in second place? It’s awful around here. 🫠

Never get olds. Complete with noisy Oklahoma summer bugs. No, I don’t want to know which ones are making the racket 🤣🤣

Of all the graphics related to the catastrophic Texas flash flood, this guts me the most. A rainfall peak of almost a foot at the headwaters of the South Fork of the Guadalupe River. And this rainfall peak is just upstream of Camp Mystic. Rainfall maximum location, nighttime, holiday, etc. 😩😢💔

A little eye candy from Oklahoma a few days ago ❤️

Pretty stout storm for ABQ. I hope the kids are out of the arroyos 🙏

May 31, 2013. Near miss mass casualty event. A study in storm and human behavior. Look at the vulnerability of all those people in cars. And now, we are more vulnerable than ever 😩

OMG, I will never forget (Sunday morning?) when you and others were learning about those losses. I still have photos from that awful day 💔

I can hear @coweatherman.bsky.social (among with the abundant thunder) telling me to step back into the garage this morning 🤓

It’s been 30 years. Tears then, tears now. #NeverForget

Seems like a good day to share this gem.

Before looking at individual radars, the footprint of warnings is just jaw dropping 😳
Godspeed to so many 🙏

I noticed “gloppy” raindrops and couldn’t resist checking on the melting layer 🤓
Thanks CC ❤️
