I still don’t regard myself as a technical master of either, though I’ve gotten a lot more polished with time.
But it’s the essence of punk rock, or whatever you want to call it: don’t worry if it’s good. That comes with time. What you can be now is honest. Honesty is what people respond to in art.

I'm planning to be sober, hydrated, moisturized, and getting a tattoo on my forearm (but at least 2 inches away from the wrist). Does this seem like a good starter tattoo situation?

Is this like a "thoughts and prayers" thing ("My wish is for your soul to be healed.") or an exchange ("You get one wish, and I get your soul.")?
This is why hell has such an advantage. It's full of lawyers to hammer out these details.
