TL;DR: Science spending pays off.

Federal funding drives UCSF breakthroughs that save lives & fuel our economy. 50% cuts to science agencies would be devastating. Tell Congress science is too important to cut.

In memory of Chuck, who always welcomed me to his table.
Sharing a throwback to his cooking show pilot, "SRO Soul" — Chuck fixes us a plate of smothered turkey wings, red beans and rice, cornbread, and collard greens. His budget-savvy wisdom and generous spirit live on. 😋🍽️

✨🕯️We gathered last week to celebrate the life of Dr. June Fisher (1933-2024). She taught me that true innovation isn’t about flashy technology—it’s about designing for the everyday in ways that are essential yet invisible. Her legacy of finding beauty in the mundane will continue to inspire us all.

We met with policymakers about the importance of federal programs that support biomedical research and discovery. Proposed NIH F&A cuts to 15% would cost UCSF ~$200M annually, threatening life-saving research. We urge protecting the current rate negotiation system.
