Hi, expat here. I fly home to California nearly every summer for the past 20+ years except for 2 in the pandemic. Next summer we only have tix to Vancouver to meet my folks there and then only MAYBE travel with them home to CA depending on the political situation. THAT is a fucking story.

I straight up deleted a whole character from my novel today: a German software developer who isn’t even usually there. I found all ~15 mentions of him and quick-and-dirty changed each paragraph he was in. I’ve only edited 35 of 350 pages so far anyway but it made me feel powerful. Art = power. 🧜🏼‍♀️🧿👨‍🎤🧙🏼‍♂️
