Spent another great weekend in the woods! Made it out to a group camp on the Victory section of the #OzarkTrail and had a great time. The new pack held up great stuffed with all my #winter weather gear. Stayed plenty warm with lows around 20F. Happy hiking!

Stayed up past hiker midnight for some night sky pics. It was hard to find a decent clearing but some turned out decent. Loving the purple coming through once I extended the exposure.

Following up the sunset with a sunrise view from Bell Mountain in Belleview, MO. You can either do the 10 mile loop or cut a couple miles off and just go out and back to the summit. Either way, it's a tough climb up for very worth it views and an easy hike out.

Sunset over Council Bluff Lake from the top of Johnson Mountain in Kaolin Township, Missouri. The lake loop is a great 13 mile hike but the mile up to this view is tough! Totally worth it though.

Did you know there's a Garden of the Gods in Illinois??? I finally went and backpacked GotG in Shawnee National Forest and it did not disappoint. So many awesome rock features and spectacular views.
