In doing other research I ran across late 19th/early 20th century drugstore trade magazines. Those had columns on how to run your soda fountain and included formulas... after trying a few myself I realized others might want to see what went into 100yr old hand crafted fountain drinks and have a sip.

What you could do is hedge the big bets with lots of smaller ones. And that's just gone away in favor of everything being 'pre sold' (existing IP). You need the small bets to generate your own IP in the first place...
