In the UK, and got bookpost. This is Egyptian crime writer Ahmed Mourad’s only novel so far out in English (2011). The story centers around a wedding photographer who accidentally snaps a political assassination in which his friend is collateral damage.

Having enjoyed “Before the Fact” so much I tried this Francis Iles too. Less engaging as from the murderer‘s POV than the victim‘s- though there’s an affecting moment where he has a flashback to being shell-shocked in the war, and for a second it’s like - oh no, did he used to be different?
