Ian Austin was a Labour MP who spent the years 2015-19 furiously campaigning against his own party's leader because of alleged concerns about antisemitism. When his party lost the election, Boris Johnson made him a Lord. These are all plain facts and it's up to you what you do with them.

It's not the only reason to oppose the language of takers and shirkers and all that, but people have been warning with good reason: when you establish the existence of a subclass of despised, worthless people it's acceptable to hate and abuse, everyone ends up in there eventually.
The “Labour” Party finds itself arguing ordinary workers, carers and others are “takers”.

Really need people to understand that Starmer, Reeves, Phillips, Lammy and Streeting aren’t going to save them. They’re not enacting far right because they’re misguided, they’ll happily do whatever they’re told by their paymasters and enjoy a nice pension once they’re done.

No shade to this poster but I’d say that Labour aren’t trying to appease anyone. They’re doing what they want. The party was taken over by “common sense” reactionaries aided by sensible moderates in return for making their every wish come true.

Couldn’t really be more starkly apparent that the choice is now Billionaires or Democracy, IMO. We can have one or the other but not both, as this system is currently constituted.

Cruelty is anhedonic. It rarely delivers the euphoria promised because, in the abstract, what feels righteous and joyful inevitably reveals itself to be sordid and small. Then it's "No not like that". "No not enough". "No the real battle, the forever war to make this feel good starts now". Forever.

Just look at Linehan. The longer he’s been on his crusade, the more deranged and swivel-eyed he’s gotten. Never celebrates any of his “wins”, just spends his waking life shouting at former friends and family.
This is only going to get much worse too, because these people don’t only want the minority groups they hate hounded and excluded. They want society to welcome them, praise them and tell them they are correct and beautiful. And that won’t ever happen, because they are repugnant and hateful.
Like MAGA, transphobes have gotten everything they wanted in 2025. And, like MAGA, they've never been more vitriolic toward the institutions they've captured, more disgusted by their wounded victims, more ready to plough forth into realms of cruelty that even they would have balked at a year ago.
