I like, maybe five people. On a good day.
Updated: There are no good days now.
I had Lick The Tins too. Ticks all the requirements for a great cover: originality, isn't gimmicky (sped up or slowed down or forced into another musical genre), and evokes the same feelins of the original in different way.

The following year all UK watched to see if "B"ardo could repeat the magic. Unfortunately not- perhaps it was the undertone of S&M in the chorus? Me, I jusy couldn't get past the bad grammar at the very end of the song:

Beth I think for me it feels like I am doing something "productive " with my procrastination and denial so later when I start beating myseld up about not dealing with XYZ I can point to the result and go oh but look what I made!

She also did a lot of tapestry needlepoint which is how I got into it. My sister took up crocheting. Neither of us, alas, can knit anything other than a scarf and beanie hat.

I was always impressed that despite working fulltime, doing all the cooking and running the house, taking care of her parents, and oh yes the three of us my mom always "had time" to knit us lovely sweaters & cardigans or crochet huge blankets & coverlets. Now I understand it for what it was.

Except I'd probably end up sitting at the the same way I do at any table/desk, i.e. in full side saddle, my knees and thighs at a perfext 90 degrees to my upper body. Which is its own problem.

My neck and lower back aren't happy because I curl up in the curve of our 25 year old U shaped leather sectional to stitch, sitting in my trademark squashed pretzel position. I reallg need one of those old frames gentlewomen did their needlepoint on.

Apparently autocorrect thinks Arbiter should be Arbitrer. How French!

And the kid who went in knowing nothing of the story besides it being set during the cold way and knowing only two songs from me having played them/their videos over the years (Arbitrer and One Night In Bangkok) enjoyed it quite a bit.

By the way all this may make it seem like I didn't enjoy the show- I did. But I went in having heard some rumbles from other fans and took the advice of one of them who said look at it as a glorified concert version and that worked beautifully.

As for the staging and costumes?, I think Michael Mayer and co were maybe trying to Jamie Lloyd the production what with the sparse, rely on lights &video set & minimalist costumes but there is an underbuzz of crazy w/ Lloyd which is what makes it work for his productions.
