Allowing him—and others—to keep these positions allows for retaliation and stops people from coming forward with complaints. They are worried guys like him destroy their career.

I know harassers who were presidents of 4 major psychological societies. So reform will likely be easier said than done.

Miles Hewstone has now been removed from many prestigious positions due to the media coverage.

He was able to keep all these positions for years after he was investigated for sexual harassment.

We urgently need to fix academic societies to stop known harassers from maintaining power over others.

Yes, the effect size is based on people who had heart attacks (which is why that group is often prescribed aspirin and other mediciation). So, I'd agree one needs to understand the context and relevant group for udnerstanding any effect size.
