went back out for a full second walk.
mystery solved: no deer, all elk. at least three + they are all huge. i’d estimate this one at ~800 lbs, maybe more. i’ll watch them a bit longer before getting closer.
this is the first time in 25 yrs i’ve seen elk in this open space.

started the laundry room remodel in late July. to-the-studs demo. everything you see is new + we designed + installed it.
now on to decorating it so it’s not just black + white.
pro tip to new remodelers: nothing is ever square + plumb. figure out what your reality is w/ levels + plumb bobs.

volunteered today at Habitat for Humanity on a house build project.
my team worked on framing the floor. joists + cross supports took a a three-person crew to install. i used a nail gun today that cld kill someone if pointed at them. they are no joke.
great time. feels good, will do again.

i pay attention to wind above 40 MPH.
a 45 MPH gust ~9:00pm 24-NOV-18 took down a 40 ft white pine in my yard. fortunately, there was no structure damage but it took out a lot of fence.
i recorded the wind speed on my anenometer.

this is on Shafer's Trail. The trail was approximately 150 ft above the canyon bottom at this point; you can see that we were going downhill via switchbacks.

Corona Arch near Moab. it’s a moderate difficulty trail with one slightly technical area. Easy if you can climb a ladder or chain rope.

The trail to Corona Arch wasn’t as technical as i expected but there was a chain rope section + this ladder.
