To propose that GenAI can compensate for "archival silences" perverts Trouillot's work. It's is a contradiction to say that a product whose logic exacerbates power imbalances--creating a most-likely guess based on the existing record--can restore absences that are the product of those imbalances.

and it's not just about the money and benefits (though it would be fine for objections to be ENTIRELY about that)--when I teach intro as an adjunct, I don't get to be confident that these students I am showing off my discipline to will ever see me again for more fun.
Artificially keeping adjuncts below full-time workloads in terms of hours to avoid the requirement to provide health insurance.
