Not the hero of the story, not a main character, just that guy in a Roland Emmerich film who looks up.

The Lenovo from 2010 is a fantastic design and one of my favourite starships. The filming model was huge.

Because Kubrick had the models from 2001 destroyed, the Discovery model had to be built from scratch from stills from the movie. The miniatures team did an amazing job.

this is at least the second time he’s claimed he doesn’t know anything about a pardon he has ostensibly signed, and i feel like that’s two times too many without a follow up question from the press corpse
talking to reporters last night, Trump claimed of Hegseth's double tap strike that "I don't know anything about it," then moments later claimed "I don't who you're talking about" when asked his plan to pardon the former Honduran president

Here’s my short interview with Earl.

Kelly is and has been a hawk on immigration for a long time. The fact he's saying this shows that Democrats see the earth shifting where they feel permission to go on the offensive on immigration. Compare that to earlier this year when the Laken Riley Act passed.
Mark Kelly: "This president, when he says things like 'third world countries,' what is he really saying? I think what he's saying is he doesn't want brown people in our country. And that's disturbing. It's un-American."

"Personnel is policy" is a reductive cliché that happens to be true almost every single time it's invoked.

("Golden Dome" is mostly a process of enabling regime-friendly rent-seeking, it's only tangentially oriented against the ballistic missile / UAS threats of the mid-21st century)
Space Force losing 14% of its civilian staff is some real gutting stuff, especially for something as crucial to the admin for the service that will mostly run Golden Dome

Judges are going over video footage and reading ICE's reports on how stuff went with protesters. Shocking news to nobody they lied each time and have ChatGPT write their reports and excuses of force for them.

AI writing reports for any type of law enforcement should be illegal.

There is absolutely no bottom. They will kill and murder and steal and break the law and laugh at every rule and institution until they are stopped. They think they are all-powerful and all conventional rules of morality and legality do not apply to them.

Some ppl have seemingly forgot that political news media spun up a "Biden secretly has parkinsons" story out of a doctor visiting the WH while the admin was working on Parkinsons policy or that Nuzzis big "Biden didnt remember me" piece was written when she was secretly working for RFK Jrs campaign
The actual "worse than watergate" scandal is how much news media collectively worked to ratfuck a Democratic presidency by largely inventing health/mental acuity concerns for hyperventilate about while largely ignoring the very real & worsening issues in front of their faces from Trump
Both taken this weekend:

so remember that Jason Statham movie where he goes Wick on a phone scammer clique that baited an old woman into suicide?
I'm about 500 times more concerned with my own elderly parents being victimized by an identity theft or pig butchering scam than I am about them being mugged or burglarized and I think that's similar for most voters bsky.app/profile/todm...
I think the scams at issue are phone and email scams, phishing, identity theft etc. Most people I know are actually quite familiar with those, worry about them and wish government would do more to stop them. A promise to do something about that sort of scam might resonate with voters.

Runs on only $200 million a year. Requires our support. So I’m finally donating. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2025/10/18/m...

The New Deal wasn’t built on a promise that there would be “no ceiling” for the richest Americans.

Quite the opposite, in fact. FDR knew its politics could only work if he singled out the rich as villains and knew that its policies could only work if the rich paid their fair share in taxes.

Ukraine is doing all of this in wartime, under bombardment, with no margin for error.

This is why the video matters. It is not just Yermak leaving the palace. It is a symbol of a country imposing accountability inside a system built to avoid it.

A lot of people are pointing out that this guy is no prince among men and that JPMorgan Chase has done some stuff, and right—that’s what makes it so notable that this guy thinks there will be accountability for this stuff in the future. He believes this is the *strategic* choice. That’s revealing.
