When working to help any community, you have to begin from a place of understanding. While the view of #LGBTQ families focuses on same-sex cisgender couples, cis bisexual women make up the largest portion of LGBTQ #parents with minors.

We need inclusive and accurate LGBTQ family #representation!

30% of #LGBTQ+ parents are not legally recognized or are unsure of their legal status as parents. While raising a child you should be able to focus on loving and nurturing the budding personality in front of you; not struggling with immense uncertainty.

LGBTQ people experience greater levels of #discrimination, loss of support systems, higher rates of #homelessness, and so many more daily challenges due to their sexuality or gender.

LGBTQ parents are more likely to live in #poverty than their non-parent peers and straight cisgender parents.

Not only are representations of #LGBTQFamilies few and far between, but they are often not indicative of the realities of #LGBTQParenthood. These representations oversimplify the diverse range of LGBTQ families and make people feel more alone. We need accurate resources and #inclusive communities.
