I do love Gaudete. Such a fun production
#morningmusic

The Bremerton WestSound Symphony and Chorale has been making music in Bremerton, Washington for over 80 years. I first heard Gaudete via Steeleye Span - it was originally published in the 16th century. They are led by Alan Futterman.

Happy Sunday.

Great thread! As a bookseller, I had the privilege of handling an independent scholar's collection of books on the history and scandals of eugenics in North America. Wow did I learn a lot. Antonovich really sums things up and adds new material plus more reading recs in replies
Historian of eugenics here. I don't normally like to retweet bad arguments, but this is such a fundamental misunderstanding of eugenics, I think it's important to point out. I don't have time to debunk all of the ways this is inaccurate, but I'll highlight a few things and then recommend some books🧵

If you read this and are thinking about your local foodbank, money is a much better donation than food. The foodbank needs shelves, refrigeration, electricity for storing food. The foodbank needs to repair the van to drive loads of food to locations. Money doesn't spoil and is more flexible

The Bisti Badlands feature a variety of unique rock formations, such as hoodoos and cracked eggs, created by millions of years of erosion on layered sandstone, shale, mudstone, and coal. The landscape was once a swamp in an inland sea during the late Cretaceous period.
