I always wondered if, by destroying his hometown, Byrne wasn’t taking a shot at the recently fired Shooter?

No because it’s all about the number of syllables. Three syllables is fine, so Income Tax doesn’t need to be abbreviated. Inheritance Tax, however, has too many syllables and so has to be abbreviated to something with 3 - hence

Sure his base would lap it up, but his problem is that he needs more than his base to gain power. His base is ~20% of the country at most. He’s managed hoodwink another ~10% recently but he’d lose a chunk of those if he admitted to the Nazi stuff and he can’t afford that.

I picked these up on eBay a few years ago. They weren’t cheap but they cover the whole 80 issue original run plus assorted mini series. The art goes downhill a bit when Ruse leaves (although Paul Smith draws quite a few issues) but overall it’s good

Tbf most of the shots that the current England team play in this Bazball era aren’t much different

He also seems to have missed the fact that Modern Family does feature a “traditional dad” character in Jay Pritchett, who isn’t portrayed as a doofus. I would have thought Kruger would have appreciated him… unless there’s something else about that character’s choices he doesn’t like…

But they scored those runs at nearly 6 an over… that’s the most important thing now, right?

But Crawley scores quickly Paul, and that is what is important in this glorious new Bazball era

Reminds me of that Michael Caine quote about Jaws 4:

“I’ve never seen it but by all accounts it’s terrible. However I have seen the house it built and it’s terrific”

Because Labour know that the racists they are pandering to don’t care about the actual numbers. They just want the performative cruelty.

The real question is why Labour think they have to pander to the racists

It’s not just your circle, Trump is pretty much universally disliked in the UK. This data is from August and shows he’s almost as hated as Putin with everyone except Reform voters - and I’m not sure his ratings have improved since then…

My 93 year old mum spent more than 48 hours in A&E before she was admitted. The reason given was that because she had Covid, they couldn’t admit her onto a communal ward and had to wait until an individual room became available, but even so (93 and she had pneumonia as well as Covid…)

I was fairly ambivalent until I became a dog owner and now I totally agree with you. We have to give our dog anti-anxiety medication so she can cope with all the bangs. And it’s not just one night - what with Divali, Halloween & Bonfire night, it lasts for weeks (and then starts again at New Year)

Turn Windsor Castle and a Buckingham Palace into our versions of Versailles and the Louvre and tourism in this country would go up providing a boost to the economy
October 31, 2025 at 6:45 AM
The tourism and economy arguments have been comprehensively debunked…

…the European country with the most tourists is France… 2 of the 3 most visited tourist attractions in France are:

Versailles (former royal palace)
Louvre (former royal palace)
