The defining struggle of our time is between those who defend the Enlightenment and those who wish to destroy it.

The closest natural experiment is probably Ireland in the 1950s. The population was self-deporting. Education was heavily parochial and access to college was limited. As a new state with limited power, it had few allies and trading partners. It's a formula for stagnation from which you can recover.

All true. But Marjorie Nazi Greene is pissing inside the tent, something LBJ would never tolerate, but she's making Donald Trump's pants wet and I'm here for it.

Does Trump's staff let black reporters anywhere near him?

She was skeptical, so I showed her an NYT article as proof. That excited her so much she told everyone in the bar that night, including those who overheard the conversation as it happened. Sabrine sipped a Jaegermeister with every Dinkelacker.

After the war, she moved to Yorkville, and remained there for the rest of her life. Around 2015, I told her that Barack Obama lived in Yorkville in the early 90s while he attended Columbia. His apartment was a block and a half from mine.

I used to live in Yorkville, Manhattan, the old Germantown. The Heidelberg Bar and Restaurant is one of ithe neighborhood's relics on 86 and Second. One regular was Sebrine. She hid under a bridge with her cousin as the Red Army raped it's way to Berlin. They eluded detection.

As a girl, she would have been in the Bund Deutscher Mädel. While technically part of the Hitler-Jugend, it was generally known as the BDM, so she likely referred to it as Hitler Youth to signal her allegiance.

Politicians from those states are currently in the majority and help control and manage the ACA. They chose to gut it. Red State politicians will destroy any national healthcare system. We should welcome efforts to shift healthcare from the federal government to the states.

On the plus side, you have the German contributions to the arts, music, math, philosophy, literature, science, engineering, and technology. On the negative, there's you-know-who.

I'm a German-Irish mutt.

One minor nit I need to pick with the Guy In Charge Of All The World's Financial Charts - oh, there's a guy. When bond yields are up, they should be depicted in red, not green. If PNC Bank's share price falls, its yield increases, but the graph is red. The same should apply to bonds.

Republicans will regain the White House at some point, and they won't suddenly revert to normal. From Reagan to Dubya to Trump, the progression is evident. They're becoming more, not less, extreme.

Kansas City might be welcoming, but you have to get past Trump's goons at the border first. And there's the chance ICE may harass you for looking different or talking funny. But other than that...

This paper sounds like Kremin wrote it. It's a strategy paper filed with moralizing language. It invokes culture, identity, demographic fate, and civilizational destiny. But go on, tell me how the Democrats play identity politics...
