While it’s often one of those “brushed under the rug” secrets that doesn’t get much attention, women going through menopause (ages 45 to 54) are more than twice as likely to take their own lives. This is an issue that demands action and in Congress, it’s something I’ll champion.

#VeteransDay is a time to remember that military service protects our freedoms & binds us together. We owe gratitude to the 46,000 veterans in CD-5. Their service deserves support, quality healthcare & real opportunity. Let’s thank them with action, not just words.

We let the people who fought for our country fall through the cracks… funding cuts just shuttered a Black veteran support nonprofit in CD-5. This is a moral failure by leaders who can find money for everything but the men and women who served. This is unacceptable.

While everything from groceries to insurance to healthcare is getting more expensive, my millionaire opponent is spending her vacation touring mansions & smiling for photo ops with her donors. In Congress, I’ll make sure healthcare is accessible to everyone at a reasonable cost.

The team and I spent this gorgeous Friday in beautiful Shawnee. I was interviewed by Dave Beerly at KSLE Radio about town halls and my plans to fix education and healthcare. That will air Monday. Then, we toured local businesses downtown.

In CD-5, 40,000 households rely on SNAP benefits. Almost half of those households include a child and a third include a senior. More than 50 percent include someone with a disability. Starting Nov. 1, these Oklahomans will no longer have access to programs that keep them fed.

There’s a joke to be made about putting Stephanie Bice’s tenure in DC in the rearview, but I don’t think anyone's in a laughing mood. Programs that keep people alive & feed hungry kids are on the verge of stopping. It’s time for Stephanie to end her vacation & get back to work.

There are a lot of hungry Oklahomans as a result of this Republican shutdown. In fact, The Oklahoman reported that we’re the 9th most impacted state. #TeamJena rolled up our sleeves & helped. We packed 589 boxes of food that will create 11,000+ meals to feed hungry children.
