Don't think we need to write these as pity stories about Picnic anymore. The've picked a business model that works for them with their budget and go into this with open eyes.
They go heavy on young talents and know they will be a first step before they move on. And get a small/big check in the end.

The riders happily and comfortably wading out in the Mediterranean post-race to clean off the mud didn't do much to give it the right CX weather vibe though. They were one step away from sitting in sun chairs sipping umbrella drinks.

Good case for why you should ba able to select which camera feed to watch in CX. Pretty uninteresting to watch Brand solo when there are actual battles going on behind

I wanted to say that this felt like a jumping the shark moment for football but the reality is probably that it is so absurdly popular that almost no embarrassment or scandal could even touch it.
