It's not enough for people to realize that trump has lied to them. They need to understand that the media that sold trump to them has also been lying to them...about everything.

How is it that the overwhelming majority of Black and Jewish Americans understood the assignment, but the rest somehow needed to be "convinced?" What do we understand, that the rest of y'all don't?🤔

You don't have to answer, your question tells me already, that you have no idea, and that's on you.

What's missing from this arrest affidavit, something that appears in ALL other January 6 affidavits, are data points showing that Brian Cole did ANYTHING between December 19, 2020, when Trump announced the rally and when he appears on Capitol Hill on January 5.

The US plays on Team Bad Guys now, which is where Trump feels comfortable and at home. Bribery and corruption are basically legal, and it's fine to attack and kill your neighbors. The country I grew up in is gone.

I agree with those who say calling this a war crime is too dignified. Crime against humanity is closer. But the most accurate word seems to be terrorism.
Rep. Jim Himes after being briefed by Adm. Bradley:

"What I saw in that room was one of the most troubling things I've seen in my time in public service. You have two individuals in clear distress without any means of locomotion, with a destroyed vessel, who are killed by the United States."

If Congress can't trade stocks using inside information, why would anyone go into public service to get rich? That would be silly.

If they passed this bill, the only people who'd run for Congress would do it to serve the country.

Apparently that's a bad thing, according to Mike Johnson.
🚨NEW STUDY: Lawmakers' personal stock returns jump 47 POINTS when they become congressional leaders & get access to non-public info.

The study arrives as House Speaker Johnson today said he opposes an anti-corruption bill banning lawmakers from trading stocks.

What stage of corruption is this?
Congress’ Leaders Have A Capital Gains Problem
Congressional leaders perform 47 percent better than their peers on the stock market, thanks to their increased legislative influence and access to nonpublic information.

I feel like a difference between Behn winning vs Behn wildly overperforming but coming up short is the former may have emboldened more Republicans to stand up to Trump whereas the latter is just the sign they should retire.
That last point. Cassidy really has enormous leverage if he wants to use it. He would win this fight. Worst case is he winds up losing a primary and spends his 70s (he's 68 now) as a hero to millions. He'll likely never have as much influence over anything again as he has over this right now.
ACIP may end universal Hep B vaccination today.

Hep B prevention is Cassidy's passion, as he made clear during RFK Jr's confirmation hearings.

But let's not forget... his vote to confirm RFK Jr. got us into this mess!

He needs to use every lever of power he has in the Senate to fix it.

While what Trump said about both Ilham Omar and the Somali community is both racist and vile, I have to point out that the Minnesota Somali community ENDORSED TRUMP IN 2024 OVER GAZA, and thus brought all this upon themselves: www.startribune.com/democrats-lo...
Democrats lost support with Somali Minnesota voters in 2024 presidential election
Concerns about the Israel-Gaza war, the economy and not feeling heard contributed to shifting political tide.

i'd go even further and say there is a reason even nixon kept this kind of stuff to himself. you would have to go back quite a bit to find a point at which is acceptable for a president to say anything like this *in public*, to say nothing of in the oval office.
I don’t want to be pollyannish about the past, but it was basically inconceivable twenty years ago that a president would say this publicly
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."
