“I’ve had enough…I’m refusing to back down.”

Texas state Rep. Nicole Collier speaks to MSNBC from the Texas State Capitol. She is stuck there after the Texas GOP required police surveillance as condition for release. She is refusing to sign a waiver for the law enforcement escort.

I feel like the 30+ cases has been mentioned a few times and people keep mentioning a summary/study. I am so completely uneducated on this and I feel like I need to start a study group or something.

One day, Philadelphia will have a mayor that respects labor. Unfortunately, that is not today.

#Philly - Our strike includes sanitation, the library and parks & rec (&others!). Do not bring your trash to drop off sites (considered scabbing) & avoid crossing these important picket lines! @mayorparker.bsky.social - Pay our city workers a living wage!
Stopped by the (closed) Free Library on the Parkway to check in on the striking library workers there. They’re mad!

“The mayor gave herself a 9% raise! Why don’t we deserve the same?”

The answer is obvious: Peanut Chews.
The Hershey Kiss might become Pennsylvania's state candy. Should it?
While the Kiss is certainly a strong contender, we’re looking at all of the options.

Maybe they are going to use the funds for A1.

(Jokes aside, officials who don't support USA literacy are not supporting it for a reason.)
MURRAY: Will you allocate the $220m for literacy programs that Congress appropriated?

McMAHON: We're looking at the unallocated dollars to determine which of those programs we can best spend on

MURRAY: Those funds were appropriated. It looks to me like the dept is illegally impounding funding

"the state can just summarily imprison someone without filing charges or holding a trial" doesn't just overturn democracy it overturns 1000 years of common law, like throwing out the entire legal system entirely and saying all people in America are the state's property.
They continue to violate a court order to retrieve someone they illegally deported.

We’re now well beyond a constitutional crisis. If they’re allowed to do this, their secret police can sweep up anyone, for any reason, deport them & refuse to bring them back.

That would be the end of democracy.

This is how they start disappearing American citizens they dislike.
The administration says that criminal immigrants can be deported to a foreign forced labor prison without a hearing that could determine if the person is actually a criminal or actually an immigrant and that if it makes a mistake it can’t be rectified because the person is now outside their control.

What took y’all so long? You’d think they’d have done this sooner with our airplanes falling out of the air - if it wasn’t that, the detainments or fascism in general I guess the tariffs will do it.
So we could lose $200B in tourism, $100B in immigrants paying taxes, $100B in weapons manufacturing, $500B in lost tax revenue from firing IRS employees… is it sinking in yet?
International tourism is worth $200 billion every year to the US economy.

Sorry, *was.

Trump continues to lay groundwork to make American elections as much of a fraud as Putin’s Russian “elections.” FWIW, even with this Supreme Court, I am fairly certain the main points of this EO will be rejected as unconstitutional. The states control elections
