Sometimes I take real photos with an actual camera
The sun is setting over the Pacific Ocean, very yellow/orange over everything. There are some bare branches in the upper left corner. The lower right is very dark, lava rock jutting into the water. A lone sail boat sits small on the horizon on the right, while the left shows a bunch of palm trees, black against the setting sum. The bright orange/yellow sun is nearly to the horizon.

It can be challenging to find modern or readily available read-alikes for Rex Stout or Wodehouse, and Pratchett is in a league of his own and wrote such densely hilarious fantasies in prolific abundance that few can rival his mastery of world-building, incisive humor, and memorable characters with as much aplomb or output. T L Huchu's The Library of the Dead does deliver on the snarky narrator front. First in the Edinburgh Nights series, it is a humorous dark fantasy that features a young protagonist who feels world-weary despite her age. Ropa can speak to the recently dead and does the work for families for a fee. Her navigation of the world beyond the world gives her a skewed and sometimes hilarious worldview. Midnight Riot by Ben Aaronovitch is the first in a fantasy mystery series set in an alternate London with tonal shifts from the humorous to the noir. Follow Detective Chief Inspector Thomas Nightingale and Probationary Constable Peter Grant into the darker corners of London where an old evil stirs and many strange creatures and fellows are to be found.

Today in Munich we happened to walk through Marienplatz on the way somewhere without knowing that Bayern Munich was having a celebration there for both teams winning the Bundesliga. It was a few hours before the teams were to appear but it was already FULL of thousands of people!
