Legit his book Cruising Utopia changed my entire worldview. Or perhaps better to say, he clarified feelings I always had. Highly recommend. He also pairs well with LeGuin.

I would say what Jose Esteban Munoz argues - utopia can be found in the small everyday moments between ourselves where we rehearse different ways of caring and support for each other in ways that are different from how we are told to isolate ourselves from each other. It is fleeting but recurring.

Wikifeet finally gets another one.

I’d rather hell because at least the Cenobites would find new ways to torture me every day.

Again, cute movie and it makes its point well, but the underlying premise is absolutely horrifying.

Haha that was the first one in my list

To be clear, I’m not saying the show is gonna be amazing. I’m just saying I know certain segments of the world are gonna be hating on it for bullshit reason simply on the basis of it being a show not aimed at them, and aimed a young people. Will that mean it’s good, who knows?

But the worst part is Ross trying to play the neutral arbiter “who wants to support trans people but is concerned” all while just legitimizes right wing talking points as valid concerns and their narratives like ROGD and itreversible damage and “think of the children” bs. Fuck him.

It’s clear in this convo they know they sometimes have to argue bs transmed arguments to save larger rights under the law, but don’t agree with transmedicalism and that disconnect makes it easy for Ross to make things seem confusing.

Again, Chase is a patient saint. I don’t envy his position. He’s a lawyer, so his job is often to translate actual trans theory and understanding into arguments that are often medicalizing of us so as to defend our legal rights.(1/2)

He describes puberty blockers as “debatable in their reversibility” and basically legitimizes, if not outright endorsing, the “irreversible damage” argument as a valid point of view.

Jesus fuck he basically just makes the ROGD argument that young people were just influenced by trans acceptance into believe they were trans. He doesn’t say ROGD but it’s the same basic assumption. Christ this fucking guy. Not that I should be shocked that NYT opinion writer holds has that belief.
